John Carpenter obtained a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, and a master’s degree in Social Work, from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. He has had advanced training in Clinical Hypnosis in order to practice as a psychiatric therapist and hypnotherapist in Branson, Missouri. His published papers have brought him international recognition and speaking invitations on five continents. He has presented at conferences from Australia to England, on national and international radio, television, and film documentaries. He has created and produced eleven research DVDs since 1996.

Born in Belgium, Manuel has had a lifelong interest in all matters extraterrestrial. In 1994 he decided to quit a career as a lawyer and academic researcher (with teaching assignment), and started a consulting company. This also offered him the opportunity to follow his passion and dedicate more time to extraterrestrial research.
After a course in regression therapy, he began to investigate abduction and contact cases. He also started sharing information with other researchers and regression therapists on an informal basis, and centralized that information in a database, called the Hyperbase. While it started as a database for people who work with abductees, this project has over the years crystallized into a valuable asset for exopolitical research, as well. It can be found at http://manuel.sekmeth.com/hb7.
In 2008 work on the Hyperbase was halted. The Exopaedia is its successor, and Manuel also is the driving force behind the Exopaedia.
Apart from that,
- he is a member of Faculty (Lecturer), and of the Advisory Board of the Exopolitics Institute,
- he is country director for South Africa at the Exopolitics Institute,
- he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Exopolitics Journal,
- he also is the founder of Exopolitics South Africa, and has been running it since its inception in 2006. As such he is also a member of the Exopolitics World Network,
- he is co-administrator and co-owner of The OutPost Forum,
- he is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Abduction-Encounter Research (JAR Magazine).

Andrew (Andy) French
JAR Magazine Researcher
Hawick, Scotland
afrench at jar-magazine.com
Andrew is from the UK originally (born 1969) and started having contact and sighting experiences (involuntary) from around the age of 6. There were approximately 5 events he was involved in up until the age of about 15, of which a regression (Hong Kong, 2015) was needed to really remember what took place. In 1987 Andrew emigrated to the USA and was there until 2009. He then relocated to Shanghai, China. After one year, he moved to Shenzhen, China which is on the border of Hong Kong. During his time on the HK border he began to get more interested in the UFO and ET phenomena as well as trying to understand what his past experiences were about. During his research he discovered Dr. Michael Salla’s Exopolitics Institute and enrolled as a student, receiving his certificate in August 2015. He has engaged in three CE-5 events with a few spectacular results during several expeditions to the USA (Sedona, Arizona). In November 2015 Andrew will relocate to the Scottish Borders and will continue his Exopolitics education through earning the full diploma and establishing a local CE-5 group and potentially a contactee/abductee group (based in Scotland and/or Northern England) as well as being involved in JAR magazine.
Apart from the people mentioned above, we also have several volunteers who prefer to remain anonymous.

JAR Magazine was initially published as a newsletter in PDF format, and nine issues appeared.
To honor the memory of Elaine Douglass, the editors of JAR Magazine have decided to make the nine PDF issues of JAR Magazine available.
- Jar Issue 1
- Jar Issue 2
- Jar Issue 3 (Edited) (*)
- Jar Issue 4 (Edited) (*)
- Jar Issue 5
- Jar Issue 6
- Jar Issue 7
- Jar Issue 8
- Jar Issue 9
(*) Please note that for legal complications we could not make the original versions of issues 3 and 4 available. What you find here are versions in which one (issue 4) or two (issue 3) articles have been slightly edited to protect one person's identity. As we no longer had access to the original files from which the PDF was created, this has slightly impacted the layout in both issues. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Elaine Douglass was on of the founding editors of, and driving forces behind JAR Magazine.
She also contributed many articles.

Join JAR's Staff
The Journal of Abduction-Encounter Research is looking for people to help put out the publication. These are volunteer positions for which no salary is provided. JAR needs reliable people to join our staff permanently, who have some of the following skills:
- JAR needs one or more graphic artists who can provide illustrations for articles.
- JAR needs people familiar with the UFO literature, especially the literature on abduction-encounters.
- The magazine needs people skilled in the English language who are able to edit and title articles on a professional level.
- We need acquisition skills, which means the ability to identify, locate and encourage writers, including non-US writers, well-known persons in ufology, and forgotten or obscure writers in ufology.
- JAR needs people with energy and ideas about how to promote the magazine.
Help JAR in smaller ways
JAR needs email addresses of people interested in UFOs worldwide.
JAR needs contacts-writers, readers, email lists-in non-US countries
Pipe dream! People to translate JAR into foreign languages, such as Chinese and French. Or even more of a pipe dream, a JAR "affiliate" in China, or France or Saudi Arabia, who will accept the magazine, translate and distribute it.
